David & Dani: A Match Made Down the Street

A cinderella story from Costa Rica, told in two matches. The first was made down the street — in a probability class, of all places. The second was made online, between strangers, over a question about ads. Storytelling from the heart, adventure across 20+ countries, and the best-kept desk in the c1ub.

A Match Made Down the Street

Every love story claims the odds were against it. This one can prove it: they met in a probability class. Of all the seats, in all the semesters, on all the streets of Costa Rica, David Mata and Dani Solis ended up side by side — a match made about as far from a fairy tale ballroom as you can get, which is exactly why it reads like one. Some matches are made in heaven. This one was made down the street. Turns out those can be the same thing.

From that classroom, the story compounds like interest: more than twenty countries traveled together, a little dog they love with their whole souls, a proposal in a Slovenian valley, and a partnership that runs deeper than romance — life, business, travel, all of it, side by side. A cinderella story, except nobody in it waited on magic. They built the carriage themselves.

But this spotlight is a double feature. Because a few years after the first match, a second one was made — and nobody saw that one coming, least of all the two strangers on either side of a screen.

The Second Match: “Hey, Do You Want to Talk About Ads?”

In 2017, a message crossed the internet: “Hey, do you want to talk about ads?” That was the whole pitch. No funnel, no script — which is ironic, considering what came next. On one side of the screen: Cameron. On the other: David Mata, a young builder from Costa Rica who had grown up through seasons tight enough that a Subway sandwich counted as a luxury.

David became Cameron's first business partner. Read that again — the first. Before the c1ub, before the brands, before any of it, there were two kids on a video call trying a hundred things, failing at most of them, and learning from every single one.

And David is a bull. Quick to build, quicker to rebuild. Out of those years — hundreds of websites and funnels shipped for themselves and for other companies — he shaped a brand around the two words that mattered most to both of them: funnels & freedom. The funnels were the craft. The freedom was the point — to better their own lives, and the lives of the people around them.

Today that same craft powers his work with coaches: an automated client system — funnels, follow-up, ads — built to help them add an extra $10,000 a month or more. The tools got sharper. The mission never moved an inch.

“David was my first business partner. We tried a hundred things, failed at most of them, and learned from every one. The brotherhood came first. Everything else was built on top of it.” — Cameron · Founder, The Country C1ub

The Land They Shared

Years of working online together eventually did what years of working online together should always do: it left the screen. David and Dani didn't just show Cameron their country — they handed it to him. Their home. Their family's table. And some of the wildest adventures Costa Rica has to offer: hanging bridges over the rainforest canopy, volcano roads above the clouds, coastlines and waterfalls and everything the maps undersell.

When members ask what the c1ub actually is, this is the picture we point to: people who met over business and ended up family. Nobody planned it. Nobody could have. That's what makes it real.

Her Side of the Story: Dani

Somewhere in those years, Dani stepped into the frame — and the whole operation leveled up. She became the best wing woman anyone could ask for. Not only for David. For Cameron too, and for every client whose loose ends she has quietly tied since. Calendars, inboxes, follow-ups, the invisible thousand tasks that decide whether a business feels like chaos or a clubhouse — Dani administrates them the way other people keep promises.

Which is why she holds the title she holds: The Country C1ub Secretary. Understand what that title is not. It was not given only for the hard work, though the work is relentless. It was not given only for the attention to detail, though the detail is immaculate. It was given because she has seen it all from the start — every version, every failure, every rebuild of a friendship that became a brotherhood that became all of this. The c1ub does not hand out many titles. The ones it has are earned.

And when the desk closes, the storyteller opens. On YouTube and Substack, Dani shares what she calls her life's diary — “mi diario de vida, tu espacio seguro” — habits, creativity, growth, and money, told from the heart in the language of home. Her community even has a name: the hadas valientes. The brave fairies.

The bond she protects at the c1ub is the same one she lives everywhere else. You can see it in her marriage, her family, and every relationship she keeps.

Always Taking the Best Shots

Their love language is the itinerary. More than twenty countries and counting — deserts, canopies, coastlines, alps — and from every single one, the shot comes home. Not a snapshot. The shot. The one that makes the group chat go quiet for a second.

In August 2025, in Slovenia's Logarska Valley, David asked the question. Her answer made the caption in capital letters: “MIL VECES SÍ”a thousand times yes. He proposed with what she calls the fairy ring she had always dreamed of. Which tracks, for the woman whose readers call themselves the brave fairies.

This summer the story runs through Italy — Rome at golden hour, Tuscany in the heat, and the Dolomites, where Dani turned 30 holding rose-gold balloons in an alpine meadow. You've already seen that frame. It's the cover of this story.

Why It Matters to C1ub Members

The c1ub is built on a simple belief: nobody achieves great things alone. David & Dani are that belief in stereo. One match was made down the street. The other was made online, between strangers, over a question about ads. Both became family. Keep showing up, keep answering the message — you never know which hello turns into a decade.

Three Lessons From David & Dani's Playbook

I

Try a hundred things.

The first years were a laboratory: most experiments failed, and every one of them taught. The tuition for a real education is the doing. Bulls don't wait for perfect conditions — they build, learn, and build again.

II

The best matches don't announce themselves.

A probability class down the street. A cold message about ads. Neither looked like destiny at the time. Show up, stay open, answer the message — the odds are better than you think.

III

Detail is devotion.

Dani's title wasn't earned by doing the most work — it was earned by how she does all of it, and by being there from the start. How you handle the small things is how people learn to trust you with the big ones.
